Formerly operated by The University of Newcastle’s Priority Research Centre for Geotechnical Science and Engineering, The University of Newcastle’s Research associates (TUNRA) aim to continue the same quality of service, which has been the benchmark for over 20 years. Armed with our university-connected expertise and highly capable and flexible in-situ testing rigs, we set ourselves apart as leaders in geotechnical testing.

    Cone Penetration Testing (CPT, CPTu, SCPTu)

    Cone Penetration Testing, provides real-time, high-resolution stratigraphic data for improved geotechnical decision making. Consisting of a 600 cone, friction sleeve and pore water pressure filter, measurements for tip resistance qc, sleeve friction fs and pore pressure (u2) are achieved.

    Dissipation Testing

    A useful geotechnical testing method for accurately measuring pore water pressure and identifying soil permeability characteristics.

    Flat Plate Dilatometer Testing (DMT, SDMT)

    Precise subsurface characterisation with Flat Plate Dilatometer Testing, a fast and cost-effective method for determining key geotechnical parameters and producing comprehensive geotechnical reports .

    Insitu Vane Shear Testing

    In-Situ Vane Shear Testing, a swift and efficient method to determine the shear strength of soft clays directly at your site. Our electronic Vane shear testing apparatus makes for reliable and accurate measurements.
